On the record is an application to help voters find out about what’s happening in their local elections in NY and DC.
NY and DC have elections in November so a group of friends and I collaborated and came up with a tool that we think is actually useful. I actually have been using it prior to voting in our local elections here in NYC.

Why build this?
2 months ago I quit my own startup.
I reached a breaking point after a decade in the tech industry.
Seeing my brilliant colleagues and peers focused on products that not only detract from our society but actively make it worse got me to a breaking point.
Albeit inelegantly, I managed to recuse myself and get some time to actually think.
What are we doing here?
I live in NYC. Mayor Mamdani took office and started getting shit done. That made me realize something about tech.
Nobody is trying to make a good product.
Why?
I suspect the entire foundational thesis of building software today is incorrect.
